foxglove091: stuart busby "drift" cd-r it is fitting that stuart busby's first full-length release opens with a song called "contentment." this album is many things, but overall it is the sound of someone comfortable in their own skin, exploring the world and inside and out. solemn trumpet notes tap out the secrets of life, holding the simplest moments in the highest regard. minimal keyboard drones underscore the importance of seeing the forest for the trees. "drift" picks up where the stunning "breathe" 3" (on kindling) left off, pushing the limits of what a man and a trumpet can do. busby reminds us that there is something greater than ourselves to be found if we would just slow down and look for it. 100 copies |
