As you may or may not have heard by now, seminal Brooklyn DIY venue Silent Barn was recently robbed and vandalized to a nearly devastating state. As the venue’s facebook page notes, “about $15k worth of audio equipment, house projects and personal belongings are gone.”
Countless bands celebrated by Foxy Digitalis and our readers have played landmark sets at the Silent Barn and it’d be a shame to see the venue close its doors after such an event.
The venue’s operators created a Kickstarter page accepting donations in any amount to renovate safety and comfort necessities (such as HVAC units, fire-code and electrical renovations) as well as replace stolen audio gear. Backers can receive anything from a pack of stickers and a screened t-shirt to lifetime venue admission and much more.
