In my opinion, Skull Defekts have always been the madmen of drone. They have style and a grace all their own, where they clown around and experiment in a very serious way. There are your wild frequencies, but then you also hear irregular rhythms and other controlled chaos. Their tracks, in my opinion, are impenetrably straightforward and simple, which prevents me from visualization or feeling—I don’t mean this offensively. Rather, to me, they are fun and exciting investigations into drone and noise. Everything is in the raw though and very earthly and everyday. Don’t look to them for blissful sweepings. These three tracks are excellent for zoning out or lucid meditation.
