Robert Carlos Lange is a busy guy. His musical projects are many, from his work as Helado Negro to the bubbly sub-aquatic beats of his Epstein guise. But somehow I think he was destined to flourish in the visual realm. “A Warning From Space” makes for a strong case for this, his companion video to the micro-musical fabric of Mouse On Mars’ Jan St. Werner, who here abandons rhythm entirely to spin a beautiful sound art piece reminiscent of Oval with its dial-tone drones and gently throbbing dynamics.
