Laying down the foundations for the past year of live gigs, Eternal Tapestry’s new LP on Thrill Jockey Dawn In 2 Dimensions has them sounding almost ‘biker s/t’ on latest offering Wholeodome.
Mad Max meets worn-out-beat-up-desert-fried-west, but in a strangely optimistic way? Wholeodome is that perfection of a sound which is also much loved, well respected and enjoyed by it’s individual members in their own singular guises – be that Dewey Mahood’s Plankton Wat, Nick Bindeman’s Tunnels or Jed Bindeman’s bi-coastal drone/rock outfit Heavy Winged.
The combination of horn, pounding/driving-rhythm, droning vocal and multi layered guitars, rag this ride right to the edge of the dusty desert road – civilization is outta sight but this behemoth just rolls on and on and on…
