Carlton Melton, “Smoke Drip” 12″

Both sides of this sonic wasteland are strewn with peace. Collectively, this 12″ showcases two new tracks plus the monstrous Against The Wall which was born during that very first Point Arena session way back in 2008. This slab hits hard and John McBain of Monster Magnet lends a hand with the CM crew, credited on this release with ‘dome treatment’.  This psychedelically enhanced slab of wax twists and turns its weightless hulk along a trippy, corkscrew trajectory like a doped up dolphin – playfully nudging the stars around the heavens before disappearing into a sea of tranquility…

A double drop of sonic fog; Adrift rips through the calming ripples of a psychedelic sea, sonar pulses DIG in an endless pacific drift – consuming all known life in its melton glory. And the second hit Smoke Drip, soars whilst retaining an element which is earthy and homegrown - feeling deep rooted and personal, like best kept secrets only know by friends of the dome.

Implosion is the only way this beast can go. Both planes of wizardry, telepathically tell of ALL existence and the endless infinite beauty of the universe. I can see it expanding all around me. This IS sound as mother nature intended. It’s so pure it almost flat-lines. Dome rock just floored the ceiling and claimed the curve of the earth.
