Montreal weirdo JLK meets British Columbia skuzz-wave progenitors Babysitter, hijinks ensue and a real juicy offspring is produced. End of story… …or is it? With three sassy slabs of psychotropic holler and creep, chomping on this collaborative cassette unearths unknown fluids that run down the chin. The proceedings here stray more toward the JLK end of the spectrum, with chunks of no-fi guitar and vocals in the pitch of Billie Holiday but with the timbre of a toilet brush. Departing from this format “Wanderings” – the lone B Side track – takes us down a path toward a proto-industrial wasteland, complete with thudding bass tones and specters of songs heard through broken windows. It’s really dreamy in a Freddy Krueger sort of way: it draws you in only to skewer your poor lungs with a handful of blades. Psych!!!!!
