Film/Music




For all y'all who live in Berlin, there's a fantastic event to see on February 2, 2007.

the problems that i had set myself on have to do with correlating music into some kind of visual thing
into some kind of diagram, being as my essential interest in music was the patterning that occured in it. (Harry Smith)


It starts at 9 p.m. with a 16mm film by Len Lye entitled "Free Radicals"

Afterwards, there's going to be another 16mm film, that one by Harry Smith (yes THAT Harry Smith) and entitled "Early Abstractions"

And then Steffen Basho-Junghans will play a live performance. Cover charge is just 5 Euros. Everything will take place at JET Gallery, located at Memhardstrasse 1 in Berlin (Alexanderplatz)

that sounds really incredible... what a great mix of stuff. wish i could go.

speaking of film/music combinations... yesterday, i think, tarentel did a live soundtrack to the original 'nosferatu' at the werner herzog retrospective in san francisco. wish i could've seen/heard that.
