One more thing for the end of the year...

My favorite thing about the end of the year is taking survey of all the insanely awesome (awesomely insane) song titles I've seen throughout the year, and I just had to share them with our dear readers. In no particular order:

"When I Try to Impress My Girlfriends Sometimes They Burn to Death or Drown in Very Cold Water"
by box_ on "Hello Special Glowing World!" (not sure what label)

"Anvil Stamping Stallion"
by Hassle Hound on "Limelight Cordial" (Staubgold)

"Sick on the Scalator"
by Faris Nourallah on "Near the Sun: The Best Songs of Faris Nourallah" (Green UFOs)

"Hit Me With Your Pet Shark" and
"Annie, Are You Puking on Elvis?"
by Boris Hauf on "Clark" (Sijis)

"Chinese Witch Guy with an Ax"
by Black Moth Super Rainbow on "Lost, Picking Flowers in the Woods" (Graveface)

"Nightmare at Guitar Center"
by Sadhappy on "Outerspaces" (Periscope)

"What do people mean when they say, 'He played cricket'?"
by Chris Corsano on "The Young Cricketer" (s/r)
all song titles are questions about cricket

"The Harassers of Bread...",
"Is Intelligent Life to be Found on Mid-Frequency Waves?",
"Alluvial Shnenokla",
"We Had a Great Time at Our Speech Pathologist's",
"Fungi's the Humour of that Hometown of Mine",
"...And the Fat Crackling Suddenly Appeared",
"The X-Horned Rhino Budding in a Cake-Thick Mist of Alcohol",
"When My Forehead Contained a Pound of Soft Flesh When I Still a Suckling",
"The Luxury of Her Hip",
"A Hard-Sweating Schlesia in My Neighbourhood",
"A Turkish Pretzel is Musical Instrument Just as Well",
"A Parents' Pet Indeed I Am, As Claimed by My Neighbour's Friend's Sister's Nephew",
"Stick It Quick, the Cauldron's Bubbling",
"The Soccer-Ball and the Outstanding 200 Horsepower Might of Yours", and
"Cube of Stench"
by Lezet on their self-titled album (Lucky Unicorn)
To be fair, I don't think English is their first language.

"An Asteroid Killed the Dinosaurs But It's Alright",
"This Is Clearly the Handwriting of Your Average Twenty-Nine and a Half Year Old Caucasian Male",
"Hypothesis: The Francis Bacons of the Future will Die Freezing Robotic Chickens",
"After 10 Million Years in an Isolated Ecosystem Everyone Evolves into a Scorpion",
"This Place Makes My Eyeballs Shiver", and
"Alan Turing Sends me Spam from a Closet in Heaven"
by the Painful Leg Injuries on "Men in White Coats"

"Sometime Somewhere Someone Should Say Something"
by The Poems on "Young America" (Minty Fresh)

"Quit Your Hardcore Band (While You Still Can)"
by Minutes Too Far on "Let It Roll" (Doghouse)

"Miners Lie!"
by The Places on "Songs for Creeps" (High Plains Sigh)

"I Must Be Too Happy to Wear Girl Pants"
by Carnindyle on self-titled album (Square's Records)

"Post War Vaseline"
by Lloyd Barrett on "Mise En Scene" (Room40)

"Where Ever the Fuck Arnold Schwarzenegger's From"
by Foot Village on "Fuck the Future" (Deathbomb Arc)
Amongst other song titles that are mostly just the names of countries.

"I Love You, Blowtorch Eyes"
by Who Can't Say Yes. on "She, Sir" (She, Sir)

"Myspace Comments Won't Save You"
by Dustin and the Furniture on "Dancing on Nothing" (Oh! Map)

"There's a Drink in My Bedroom and I Need a Hot Lady"
by Lindstrom on "It's a Feedelity Affair" (Feedelity/Smalltown)

"Sssix Foot Albino Penguins"
by OneThirtyEight on "The Sister" (Tuesdays)

"Two Hours Over Two Blue Mountains With a Cuckoo on Each Side, of the Hours....that is Possibilities"
by Algarnas Tradgard on "Framtiden ar ett Svavande Skepp, Forankrat i Forntiden" reissue (Silence)

"Bacon Tomorrow"
by Harvester on "Hemat" reissue (Silence)

"Stop Searching For Your Symptoms on the Internet"
by East Ghost West Ghost on self-titled album (Triumphant Elephant Triumvirate)

But the best, by far, is:

"Bring Me the Head of Michael Brown"
by King Ghidorah on "Proud to Swim Home" (Katrina benefit) compilation (Backporch Revolution)

"Cube of Stench" is a brilliant name! Reminds me of Trumans Water for some reason...

i still think just about every title on the armpit CDR we released on foxglove should be nominated (thank you riz!). "i'll humour myself so you don't have to" and "i read the bible every fucking day" being my two favorites.

Thanks for the comment, mom!

And thanks to Eden for including on a list with titles as brilliant as "Sometime Somewhere Someone Should Say Something"
