Rakhim "Crimson Umbrella"

I wish people wouldn't use headings like PSEUDO-INTEL DRIVEL and SALES VOMIT in their press releases. I wish people wouldn't misuse words like "schizophrenic" either. I also wish that people wouldn't send me CDs which sound something like the slowed-down sounds of a rabid dog going to pieces in a sheet-metal factory and expect me to make sense of them. "What if Z'ev had written the intro to Darkthrone's "Blaze In The Northern Sky"?" Well, what if he had. It would probably sound something quite like this. The PR references Circle, Faust and Pharoah Overlord (Rakhim members Krypt and Rudimentor are members of Circle and P.O.) and I really like all those bands; however I don't get the reference. It also references Z'ev, Nurse With Wound, Wolf Eyes, Keiji Haino's "percussive works" and "true industrial" and while those are indeed very accurate touchstones, I don't like Z'ev, Nurse With Wound, Wolf Eyes, Keiji Haino's "percussive works" or "true industrial". At all. Or this. Which sucks; I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time, as that guy said. However, as usual, your mileage may vary considerably. 3/10 -- Young Savage (5 February, 2008)
