Eternal Tapestry is a newer quartet hailing from rainy ol' Portland Oregon. "Mystic Induction," their first full length LP is a spacey psychedelic journey through an old shoe. A really pretty person with an awful ugly soul. Eternal Tapestry walk the tight rope playing the finer parts of repetitive stoner licks and spaced out fuzzy drone.
"Mystic Induction" particularly displays their music perfectly. The first side of the record never really takes off delving in ambience and fuzz with guitar manipulation and sparse off beat drumming. The Low pulsing bass lines that never really truly match or run the same way as any of the other sounds or instruments. The beauty of this record is the musical foreplay. The build up, to the blast off, and when it takes off, at the beginning of the second side it flies exactly how you had wanted it to since the needle hit the groove on the first song. The best artwork so far this year done by bassist Dewey Mahood is the topper here. If you haven't heard Eternal Tapestry, this is the record to start with. Front to back an enjoyable ride. 7/10 --
