I am probably the worst person to have write this review since I am pretty over the whole “harsh noise” thing. I know there are a fair number of people out there who do this kind of music well, and have made interesting releases (ahem, Novasak for one), but for the most part it all sounds about the same to me and Embarker is no exception. Just when I think this guy is going to take this thing somewhere it just goes back to the same sizzling blown out squall, which has an immediate juvenile titillation factor to it, but really doesn’t do much for me. This music overall has the same effect on me as hearing someone scream the word “fuck” over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over…..
The b-side is, granted, a little better than the a-side, but still, not sure that this is the kind of thing that must be put to 12” wax since there is really only about a 7” worth of decent material on the whole thing. My patience has been tried. 5/10 --
