Ritornell is a collaborative project between two Austrian musicians, Richard Eigner and Roman Gerold. Patrick Pulsinger produced the album, and Dimlite provides a remix. The album is a seamless blend of electronic, electro-acoustic and jazz elements. While there are a few noticeable glitch/process sounds, it mostly maintains an organic feel (although I hate using the term "organic" to describe any type of music). It seems like most of the sounds are generated by acoustic instruments, but end up getting spliced and chopped and manipulated throughout the songs. It never feels like glitch overload (not that I am in any way opposed to such a thing), though, and it very neatly splits the balance between acoustic and processed.
Overall, this is a unique, engaging and enjoyable release, and definitely fits in well with Karaoke Kalk's roster of abstract electro-acoustic pop. 7/10 --
