This four-track EP from Fire honcho James Nicholls’ coed quartet is centered around the bubbly title track, which originally appeared on last year’s Distance. A repetitive round of wordless female vocals morphs into the titular lyric while keyboards and fizzy electronics swirl in the background – imagine Stereolab crossed with The Tom Tom Club and you’re in the ballroom. The remaining three tracks appear for the first time, including an ominous, haunted house spoken word version of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” that sounds like Lou Reed covering an Angelo Badalamenti composition from one of his David Lych soundtracks, while a female choir invisible flutters angelicly in the background. The set ends with a hesitant, hushed acoustic live rendition of “I See You There,” which reiterates the band’s modus operandi – repetitive lyrics sung like a “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” round with interwoven male-female vocals. It’s deliriously delicious, headswirling fun that was only available on their recent tour, and through the above website. Act now before they’re all gone. 7/10 --
