Abolicao came lovingly assembled in a cloth and plastic design, freely decorated with a sense of ritualistic otherworldliness quite befitting the music itself. The sounds themselves are regal and naturalistic, adorned with a sense of campfire mysticism that is difficult to set one's finger on. A large component of 'Versazi Yenisci' is a shimmering, tuneful timbre presumably originating from synthesizers of some sort. It is draped under a layer of tape distortion and hum, and frequently conjures a conflict between the beautiful and the disturbing - the result of august textures being matched with dissonant tones. The compositions themselves tend to ebb and flow unpredictably, producing a distinctly organic effect. A track listing is not provided, so it is unclear whether the occasional silences are meant to divide improvisations, or are merely intended as momentary valleys amid the mountainous clusters of sound. The tape's highlight could be the last minutes of side B, which introduce a homey guitar strum blanketed by gossamer clouds of fuzz & crackle; as the adventure winds down, the track cuts to a send-off of chirping crickets – a curious conclusion to a mysterious and free procession. 7/10 --
