The psychedelic-obsessed minds behind the Moon Glyph stable strike again with this fleeting C14 of pop goodness -- a startlingly straightforward departure from the imprint's otherwise strange and expansive fare. But who am I to complain? These four songs are cheery relics which might have been rescued from some sixties psych-folk acetate. The tape's defining moment is infectious “Box,” whose sparkling guitar signature carves out a permanent spot in the listener's mind. Also intoxicating are the iconic, reverberating guitar chords of “Lemon,” which recall the Stone Roses' psychedelic moments, as well as the paisley electric organ keys on “Drop.” But “Square,” although passable, lacks the melodic potency and atmosphere of the tape's other tracks. Still, it's a blip on an otherwise compelling release. 'Lemon Drop Square Box' leaves you with that toasty sensation of “when's the next tape coming?” 7/10 --
