So you think your Jim O'Rourke you silly bastard you. That must be some kind of joke, because Mr. O'Rourke writes perfect little indie rock albums with a weird avant and/or drone album inbetween. Are you sure your not 1980/1981 Thurston Moore? The guitar tone and vocal delivery is right and well he a little more dreamy. I mean who doesn't love a 7ft tall guy who climbs rafters, raps poetic about obscure noise lps from Indonesia. Thats a better fit my friend. And hey listeners, you dig Sonic Youth? And you think Ex-Models hit their stride with that album on Troubleman Unlimited? Yea me too! Shearing Pinx's 'Weaponry' is the perfect mix of crass and tongue-in-cheek musical humor. Damaged riffs, off-kilter drums, and muddled bass lines that make you want to pound your head through the wall. Stand out tracks include 'Selfish Acts', 'Xenophobe Frostflood', and 'I am Jim O'Rourke'. Check it out now! 8/10 --
