I really have come to enjoy split releases that combine two very different yet complimentary musical styles… that is if they're good. Sometimes the pairings (as demonstrated on this release) are completely baffling. Taking one solid band and forcing it to conjoin with another so overwhelmingly boring is near criminal. If you can get past the silly band names and horrendous DIY art, you are treated to 18 glorious minutes of the Portland Oregon based Mangled Bohemians' "Scatterbrain (Bad Acid)"; a lovely guitar meandering spacerawk sleep droner that plops in the obligatory moaning with the occasional echos and dark chuckles that relegates this to daytime listening - unless you're the type that likes to get creeped out with the lights off. As the final Bohemian notes trail off, the ethereal bliss is shattered, nay donkey punched, with the inclusion of four unfortunate tracks by Baseball Camp Nurse. Completely unfocused near retard underground noise rock that serves to do nothing but irritate with it's pointless repetition and abject silliness. They also manage the impossible by making a Ramones cover,"I Want You Around", sound even more childish than the original. I want to rate this as a 8/10 for the Bohemians track - but an overall 5/10 for the lame art and for the aggravation induced from listening to the rest of the disc. 5/10 --
