Holy balls get your eardrums ready. Harsh noise in the Michigan basement vein, tunes that are here to kick you in the behind and replace what would have been the second cup of coffee in your dull office job. Two versions of “Shoulder Voices,” Red & White, you know, for variety (it’s all about what kind of meat you’re cooking, nawmean?)
The later half of “Shoulder Voices (Red)” comes up with these really nice dive-bombs of screeches, while the feedback gets a little looser and reigned in, it gets shaped in a nice way. “Spears and Wings” is some more pedal and mic mangling, hanging on the brink of full on aural assault. “Shoulder Voices (White)” has a muddled cat-meow opening sound, but explores the lower register in a more serious way than the rest of the tape does. Not exactly SV(R) chopped & screwed, just a flip of the coin. Also, with 2:00AM tapes, some very clean design and packaging. 8/10 --
