The Futurians "Pimp My Tardis"

I've never been shy about my love for The Futurians! (their name really should always appear with an exclamation mark). This new album on Finland's 267 Lattajjaa furthers the proclamation that this is the greatest punk rock band on the planet. Beth Duckling and company are armed with nuclear weapons of sonic dust and will unload their jarring hypnofests anywhere this side of the Mississippi. These ten tracks are pure mayhem, the remnants of space debris raining down on the green hills of New Zealand. "Venus K9" is like being zapped by a raygun and loving every second of it. The metallic bombast of "No Comeback" is a total headswamp. As always, these tracks are covered in dirt and grime and sweat. God knows if I was ever in a brawl, I'd want the Futurians! backing my ass up. This shit is primal and delicious. I swear this quartet is going to take over the entire universe. The Futurians! remain the best punk rock band in the world and that's not going to change anytime soon. Now go out and buy everything these crazies have to offer. Last one to do so is a fucking loser. 8/10 -- Brad Rose (8 July, 2005)
