I'm just guessing here, but underneath the slack package and disappointing recording quality lies a pretty solid band. I would imagine a live performance to be pretty captivating, but very little of the energy and talent this band apparently has transfers to this particular release. Hot & Bothered, their second proper full-length release, reveals 10 songs with an excellent understanding of early 90s indie rock? a little Boston, a little Minneapolis, a little Seattle, & maybe a bit of Louisville too. Unfortunately, the brotherly lovin' trio really don't do much with the raw material. While these guys power trio it up and rock the shit out of each other, the songs are far too often two-dimensional and lyrically wanting. An interesting, and apt given the moniker, move would be going 100% Pell Mell and go strictly instrumental. Until then, these guys will sell a lot of disc off the stage and around their hometown, but will have limited appeal to those who frequent this site often. 5/10 --
